Travis County GOP Promotes Anti-Muslim Screed That Also Calls George W. Bush a ‘Coward and Traitor’

The Travis County Republican Party here in Austin dived into the deep end of the crazy pool Monday evening:

The tweet (which was removed late this morning) links to a blog post on the Conservative Daily News website. The hate-filled screed starts this way:

“Christianity is a religion but Islam is merely a satanic cult of rape, torture, murder, bestiality, and satan worship!!!!!”

It’s all downhill from there, with the writer demonstrating (despite his protests) an almost unhinged hatred for Muslims. But he also attacks George W. Bush, calling the Republican former president a “coward and traitor.” He even goes after other Christians, notably the Roman Catholic Church. Some choice passages:

“I remember an instance in Iraq after the overthrow of Saddam Hussein where a group of ‘jihadists’ fired on American soldiers then hid in a mosque. The Americans returned fire, causing minor damage. The ‘outrage’ of the worldwide islamic cult and the Bush hating ‘American’ media was vociferous. The American government led by the coward and traitor George Bush immediately dispatched millions of dollars to the islamist terrorists to pay homage to allah/satan but before any repairs were made the other sect of the satanic cult blew it up with a truck bomb. The total destruction of the house of satan was met with silence from moslems and the ‘American’ media.”

“The catholic church is very prominent in the importation of members of the satanic cult of islam while ignoring middle east Christians who are being slaughtered by islamic satanists.”

“Liberals in America stand with the Godless islamic cult against Christianity.”

“Those who constantly scream ‘separation of church and state’ in regards to the legitimate religion of Christianity ( the religion this nation is based on) have no issue with the satanic cult of islam being taught to their children in the public schools.”

“I wonder how long it will be until God destroys this nation (as He destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah) for the cruelty to the innocent, and its promotion of immorality and satan worship.”

The Travis County GOP’s tweet went up a little after 10:30 p.m. on Monday. So now we know what kind of crazy stuff the folks over there are reading late at night.

It would b I these so called religions of peace, including Christianity, Judaism and Islam, would all live up to their tenants of peace and live up to them. Run the radicals out and denounce them for what they are. Trouble making terrorists. They are there, some hiding under the guise of the being a peaceful person. Kick them out. Denounce them. That is the only way to treat them.

I would like to know what substance is in that Kool-Aid they are drinking right before they do their late night reading.

But hey. You know where they are getting this stuff—right? I heard it best articulated by Rev. Billy Graham’s daughter on a TV documentary late one night. It goes something approximately like this—so listen up all you Muslims out in Texas—and learn what the American Christian fundamentalist and conservative evangelical perspective is on Islam. It goes something like this:

“The entity called Allah in the Koran is not the same as the God of Abraham that is presented in the Christian Bible and Jewish Torah. That is a false claim. The one called “Allah” in the Koran is actually Satan himself masquerading as the true God of Abraham. Allah Satan appeared to a man named Mohammed circa A.D. 700 and lied to him about being the God of Abraham. Therefore, Mohammed was never a prophet of God. Mohammed is a prophet of Satan. Allah Satan duped Mohammed into being an evil Anti-Christ figure and a prophet of numerous falsehoods presented to the Arab peoples of the Middle East. Not only was Mohammed a false prophet of Satan, the Koran itself is a huge lie that Allah Satan further duped Mohammed into giving to the Arab peoples to deceive them even more. The entire Koran and everything in it is one enormous lie perpetrated by Allah Satan. It is a tool of the Anti-Christ. The whole Koran is an offense to God, and it deserves to be destroyed so it can no longer deceive mankind. The Christian fundamentalist and conservative evangelical faith is the only true faith approved for the entire Earth by the one true God of Abraham—who is not Satan Allah.”

Now before all you rare and occasional radical Islamists out there in Texas decide to come to my house and bomb it, I need to tell you that I AM NOT a Christian fundamentalist or a conservative evangelical. I was merely summarizing for you what THEY believe because one only rarely sees a full articulation of it in the media. These are the people in American society who are always giving peace-loving American Muslims and all other Muslims such a hard time. It is pretty much all the fault of the members in this little Christian fundamentalist and conservative evangelical cult that is centered in the American South, The Great Lakes region, over much of California, and in a few spotty places like Kansas and Oklahoma.

But do not feel bad about it peace-loving American Muslims and all other Muslims of various stripes. American Christian fundamentalists and conservative evangelicals have always been what you might call “equal opportunity haters.” They hate United Methodists, Episcopalians, Roman Catholics, Lutherans, United Church of Christ, Liberal Baptists, Presbyterian Church USA, Greek Orthodox, Eastern Orthodox, Russian Orthodox almost as much as they do all Muslims. So welcome to the club.

Well, Islam is a religion of the sword but I wouldn’t say anything beyond that.

    • Doc Bill says:

“Onward, Christian Soldiers” was my favorite hymn as a child. Yours too?

Actually, “sword” is a generic term for the more precise scimitar, a curved sword, of which there are many varieties: shamshir (Iran), pulwar (Afghanistan), kirpaan (India).

The European scimitar equivalent is the saber. Historical note - the facial scar on Fearless Leader was most likely the result of a saber duel.

All audio, visual and audio/visual devices and photography, filming, recording and taping are strictly prohibited.

        • Dan says:

That’s not an uncommon practice. A prominent religious-right organization in Texas has long barred media from its events, even though the events feature speeches by elected officials (including the governor). And it can toss out anyone it chooses.

    • Beverly Margolis says:

So is Christianity! Remember what your Jesus had to say about that? How ’bout this quote: “Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword.”

      Duh?

Islam is a religion. Then there are the jihads who are as about Muslim as I am a twin headed dragon that breaths fire. (I quit smoking in 1993.)

The messiah, when he gets here, will BE a peace maker, he will not do miracles or anything that the false messiah did. Peace, world-wide peace, that is what the messiah will bring…where is it now?

    • RT says:

So is Christianity. The sword. The machine gun. The mortar. The tank. The helicopter gunship. The drone. What’s your point, if you have one?

    • Ken Hughes says:

Clearly you never heard of the Jesuits, they claimed to be “The sword of Christ” and killed just as wantonly. All religion is a cult of death at some point in its development from a cult as all religions started from. I much prefer an atheist as a friend and confidant.
