Many Americans — including some leading Republicans — have rightly denounced Donald Trump for declaring that all Muslims should be banned from entry to the United States. Trump’s declaration betrays the values of our nation and our Constitution and is simply designed to cultivate fear and prejudice among voters.
But that doesn’t seem to bother Texas Sen. Ted Cruz. Sen. Cruz clearly hopes to win over Trump supporters when (if) the latter’s campaign for president fades. So Sen. Cruz said yesterday that he would still support Trump if the billionaire wins the Republican presidential nomination. And he said this about Trump’s declaration:
“I disagree with that proposal. I like Donald Trump. A lot of our friends here have encouraged me to criticize and attack Donald Trump. I’m not interested in doing so.”
We’ll simply say it plainly: this is moral cowardice.

When are we going to get a vetting process that guarantees when a gun is sold to someone I won’t become a target of the “good guy” who just made the purchase? But the same people who want a guarantee that no one terrorist will be allowed into this country would argue with me that there are no guarantees when it comes to guns.
I am not sure I agree with that. Trump has a point although it does beggar the imagination. He just said until we can get a good vetting process. Obviously after San Bernadino it hasn’t worked.
Also, you might to study history. One of the major factors in Rome’s decline was the eradication of borders. Rome didn’t fall in a way we think into total collapse it just slowly became a ruin through many factors open borders being one of them.
Of a bigger concern to me is the problems Texas has in education and nobody on either side wants to do what is right for kids.
This isn’t about enforcing borders. This is about who will be allowed to cross those borders legally. And to bar an entire religious group specifically is fundamentally un-American.

Vetting process? Farook was born in the United States. He was an American.

Do you know how many family visas were issued in 2014. I’ll tell you 198,000 - from all regions. How many from North America alone? About 78,000. Were they all vetted to your satisfaction? How would you possibly know since your ignorance of everything seems to be bottomless.

It does help if you get the facts. Syed Rizwan Farook was born in Illinois, not some Middle Eastern country. So, how is this a failure (so you claim) of any vetting process?
